Bosnia’s Council of Ministers’ Chair Borjana Kristo expressed content over her participation in the Bled Strategic Forum on Monday.
She stated that the meeting is attended by the representative of European institutions, that is, the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, as well as the prime ministers of all the countries in the region, assessing that this speaks of the importance of the Bled Summit for all its participants.
“The topic of our panel at this summit is the ‘Process of enlargement to the countries of this region’ and I expect that the European Union and its institutions will voice a more clear determination towards the process at this summit,” Kristo said.
She noted that Bosnia made great progress in terms of harmonizing its legislation with the EU and fulfilling the conditions from the Opinion of the European Commission that need to be implemented.
“I expect that the representatives of the European institutions will be able to recognize this and that very soon BiH will open the negotiation process for joining the European Union,” Kristo said.
She recalled that a series of bilateral meetings regarding bilateral relations, economic integration and other pressing issues were held as part of the Summit, all in the context of good regional cooperation and the realization of common interests and goals.
The Bled Summit is also attended by Prime Minister of Montenegro Dritan Abazovic, Prime Minister of Bulgaria Nikola Denkov, Prime Minister of North Macedonia Dmitar Kovacevski, Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti and Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama.
