Malaysia’s donation of 50,000 Chinese Sinovac vaccines against COVID-19 to Bosnia arrived at the Sarajevo International Airport on Thursday evening, BiH Civil Affairs Ministry official, Dusan Kojic, confirmed for N1.
“Immediately after it arrived, the donation was transferred to the warehouse of Hercegovinalijek company. This morning, the vaccines were delivered to Banja Luka, Mostar and Brcko at 9:00 AM, and several samples were sent to the control laboratory of the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices. We expect the issuance of the findings on quality control in the next few days, after which the vaccine will be put to use,” Kojic said on Friday.
On June 23, the first tranche of 50,000 doses of vaccine was sent from Malaysia.
The Malaysian government made the decision after BiH tripartite Presidency member Sefik Dzaferovic sent a letter to Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin in late February asking for support for BiH authorities in opening channels for the purchase of vaccines.
