A foreign national was severely injured in a brawl at the migrant camp 'Lipa' in Bosnia's northwest on Sunday, and eventually succumbed to injuries, a police spokesperson confirmed on Monday. Pročitaj više

According to Ale Siljdedic, the spokesman of the Una-Sana Canton Ministry of Interior, police officers who secure the camp area informed the local police administration about a mass brawl among the migrants, which resulted in two migrants being injured with a knife.

“All available forces were sent to the site of the incident. The situation was put under control shortly. It was determined that two migrants were injured by knife, one in his hand and another in his chest,” Siljdedic said.

The injured migrants were hospitalised in the city of Bihac but at 10.30 p.m. the police was informed that the migrant who had the chest injury passed away.

According to him, the investigation is still ongoing but the available information indicate that the migrants who took part in the incident were Syrian nationals.

Currently, there are 1,480 migrants in the Lipa camp, originating from various countries.
