Miners reject agreement between Union and FBiH Government: “Protests are not over, they’re keep lying to us”

Miners protesting in front of the Government building of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) have voiced their dissatisfaction with the agreement reached between union representatives and government officials, saying the deal does not reflect the real needs of workers and that they will not end their protest until all of their demands are met.

Previously the president of the Federation of BiH Mine Workers' Union, Sinan Husic, stated that a solution had been agreed upon, ensuring that wages for May would be paid by the end of the week, followed by payment for June.
“In a difficult way, we reached a solution that will ensure the payment of wages for miners in RMU Zenica. In the coming days, funds for the June wages will also be secured, and the entire process will take place in coordination between Elektroprivreda BiH and the Union,” said Husic.

After the meeting with the FBiH Government, the details of the agreement were announced, but the miners responded with disapproval.
“They’ve been telling us the same stories for years. They lie to us, lie to our faces. They promised a law in June last year, and now June has come again. Sinan Husic is lying to us too. We want action, not words,” the miners said.
They emphasized that the protests are still not over.
