The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) Minister for Labour and Social Policy, Adnan Delic, expressed optimism that the 2025 budget would be finalised within the next ten days, though he refrained from speaking on behalf of the FBiH Government.
Delic explained that this timeline was the reason behind the withdrawal of the Proposal for Temporary Financing for January to March 2025 from the agenda of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament.
“We’ve held extensive consultations with the FBiH Ministry of Finance on the preparation of the 2025 budget. Our Ministry’s proposal has already been finalised unless further requests arise,” Delic noted.
He expressed satisfaction with the Ministry’s allocated budget, citing numerous innovative projects and programmes awaiting budgetary approval.
Touching on the matter of the minimum wage, Delic pointed out that compensation for parents and caregivers would also see an increase.
“This is not merely compensation but their right. It aligns with the minimum wage, and any increase in the minimum wage should proportionally apply to the over 1,500 parents and caregivers currently receiving it,” he asserted.
Delic also highlighted plans to introduce a new model for child allowance, announcing the commissioning of a study to implement a universal child allowance, ensuring every child across the Federation receives a set amount.
Additionally, he stressed that the 2025 budget would include an extra 141 million Bosnian marks (some €70 million) allocated for individuals with disabilities.
