Some 300 people are banned from entering Bosnia and Herzegovina because "they pose a threat to public order and peace," said the director of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs, Slobodan Ujic, adding that least of them are citizens of Serbia.
“There are over 60 citizens of Montenegro, around 70 from Albania and as just many Turks, and it seems to me that there are 27 citizens of Serbia [on the no-entry list],” said Ujic.
He pointed out that these decisions and acts are made by the Intelligence and Security Service of BiH (OSA BiH) as well as other security agencies and the Service cannot change them.
“According to the law, we are in charge of the technical part. We are obliged to record those acts into the database, and the Border Police and the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs are acting in accordance with them,” he added.
Last Friday, Goran Petronijevic, the lawyer of war criminal Radovan Karadzic, was not allowed to enter Bosnia and Herzegovina because he was said to pose a threat to security, public order, peace and stability of BiH or international relations. The former commander of the Serbian Gendarmerie, Bratislav Dikic, was also banned entry days earlier.
Ujic also spoke about refugees from Ukraine pointing out that no refugee will be expelled.
“The Service will be of service to them. A solution will be found to allow them a humanitarian stay of six months without paying taxes. But, most of them want to travel further,” Ujic said.
