Bosnia and Herzegovina will soon get one million vaccines through the EU for Health Programme, BiH House of Peoples chair Bakir Izetbegovic said Thursday, speaking about the vaccination process in the country.

“Soon, we’ll have vaccines from the EU for Health program, which is why I held talks with the EU representative in BiH, Johann Sattler, in recent days. That way I think we’ll have one million vaccines in the next two to three months. That’s the basis for mass vaccination,” said Izetbegovic.

He added that a decision on the donation of 50,000 vaccines against COVID-19 from Malaysia was definitely made Thursday, thanks to an invitation from Bosniak member of the BiH Presidency, Sefik Dzaferovic.

“I arranged a similar thing with friends from China, 50,000 Chinese vaccines. At my invitation, 30,000 vaccines came from Turkey. That’s 130,000 vaccines this way which is solid. It is not a number that will enable mass vaccination, but it is a certain one that can satisfy the groups that bear the most risk, at this time,” Izetbegovic noted.
