Rare orchid species discovered in Blagaj marks historic first for Bosnia

Botanical experts have recorded a major breakthrough in the Blagaj region with the discovery of the Adriatic Bee Orchid (Ophrys archipelagi), a species never before documented in the flora of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The find was reported by the "Novi Val" Youth Club following field identification by Dr. Elvedin Sabanovic of the "Nature Protection Network of BiH" and Barisa Ilic from the "Brkata Sjenica" Ornithological Society.
