The long-awaited series "Last of us" is finally released to the public on January 16, and Bosnian author and director Jasmila Zbanic is among the cast and interesting directors who directed the series.

Zbanic, who is the author of award-winning films like “Grbavica” and “Quo Vadis, Aida”, directed one of the episodes of the long-awaited series, which shows the life of a smuggler and a teenage girl chasing a cure for a terrible disease that turns people into aggressive zombies. The series is based on the famous video game that is coming to HBO soon. On her Instagram profile, the director wrote, “It was a great pleasure to direct an episode of the series, with these great people.”

The plot of HBO's drama is set in the post-apocalyptic USA and follows the search of smuggler Joel (Pedro Pascal) and teenager Ella (Bella Ramsey) for a cure against a terrible fungus that turns people into aggressive zombies. Apart from Zbanic, Mazin was joined by Iranian director Ali Abasi, director Jeremy Webb, who worked in the series “Masters of Sex” and “The Umbrella Academy”, British director Peter Hoar whose work also includes “The Umbrella Academy” series, as well as Daredevil and Doctor Who, Elvis & Nixon director Lisa Johnson. Another director in the team was the creator of the original game, Neil Druckmann.
