The President of the National Assembly of Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Nenad Stevandic, said that the High Representative of the international community in the country, Christian Schmidt, has caused anti-German sentiment and the greatest damage to his country with his actions in BiH and that the RS “has shown political superiority”.
Stevandic commented on Schmidt’s potential visit to the RS after the president of the RS, Milorad Dodik, announced that the High Representative will be arrested if he entered RS territory.
“I think that Schmidt got caught on the hook from Republika Srpska and that we have shown political superiority because we will make everyone analyse his appointment and make everyone aware that he is not legal. His attempts to introduce a type of violence will lead to the police not throwing him out, the police will defend him from the people. So he should be grateful to the police of the Republika Srpska, which has the obligation to defend everyone, both those who the people love and those who do not like, and he is obviously not loved by the people of the Republika Srpska”, said Stevandic to journalists in Stanari, commenting on the announcement of the high representative that he would come to this BH entity.
Schmidt recently told FAZ that he will come to Republika Srpska next week and that Dodik can expect “some unpleasant moments” because, as he stated, he enjoys immunity.
He stated that in the next few days and weeks, he has arranged meetings all over the RS, especially in Banja Luka, and he announced the plans shortly after Dodik said that the entity “police received instructions on how to proceed in the case of Schmidt”.
