The Prime Minister of Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS), Radovan Viskovic met in Banja Luka on Thursday with head of the EU Delegation in BiH Johann Sattler.
As stated, in an open and constructive conversation, upcoming steps in the process of European integration were discussed, after Bosnia and Herzegovina acquired the status of a candidate for EU membership in December last year.
Prime Minister Viskovic informed Sattler that the RS Government is working intensively on two strategically important projects – the creation of a “social map” and a sustainable development strategy, stressing that the EU's support for this process would be desirable, given that these documents serve all levels of government, from local to entity, as well as institutions,” the Prime Minister’s Office announced.
Speaking about the European integration process, the Prime Minister pointed out that the RS Government is firmly committed to the European integration process, with strict respect for the coordination mechanism and constitutional competencies.
The two also discussed the fulfillment of BiH's obligations regarding the 14 priorities from different areas, which the European Commission identified in 2019, and whose fulfillment is closely related to the process of opening negotiations on Bosnia’s accession to the European Union.
