High Representative Christian Schmidt went to Banja Luka on Sunday where he met with Bishop Komaric.
The two discussed legal and political issues concerning the project to expand the capacities of the Meeting House and European Center for Peace and Cooperation “Marija Zvijezda”, which is approaching its 3rd anniversary, the Office of the High Representative (OHR) wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
“They agreed on the urgent need to care for the younger generation in BiH. ‘These are Europeans in Europe, dedicated to common European values of tolerance, respect, and honest cooperation, not single-mindedness,’ said HR, adding that his work serves all RS and BiH citizens equally,” the OHR wrote.

The High Representative was supposed to travel to Banja Luka for a meeting with the Vice President of the BiH entity of Republika Srpska (RS) Camil Durakovic, but he canceled the visit after the announcement that he would not be allowed to enter the building of RS institutions. The OHR said that the announced visit was not definitively agreed upon.
“The High Representative's visit to Banja Luka has not been firmly scheduled. The High Representative deliberately chose not to participate in an orchestrated theatre play, taking into consideration the interests of all citizens of BiH. The High Representative continues to execute his mandate on the entire territory of BiH as set out by the Dayton Peace Agreement,” the OHR said.
