The premiere of the film "Quo Vadis, Aida?" was held in Novi Pazar on Tuesday, which is the first screening of this year's best European film in Serbia.

In addition to a large number of citizens and public figures, the premiere at the Cultural Center of Novi Pazar was attended by three “Mothers of Srebrenica.”

Director Jasmila Zbanic, actors Emir Hadzihafisbegovic and Izudin Bajrovic addressed the audience via video messages before the screening.

On the eve of the screening, the director of the Cultural Center of Novi Pazar, Husein Memic, said that this screening has a humanitarian character and all funds from the tickets will be donated to the Association “Mothers of Srebrenica” in Bosnia.

“This film is a living proof that speaks the truth, and 26 years later it is the only cultural creation that speaks of the genocide in Srebrenica,” Memic said.

He said that this is a film that should be watched not only by the audience in Novi Pazar, but also by the whole of Serbia and the world.

A significant number of people from other cities and regions were among the audience, and the film’s screening in Novi Pazar attracted the interest of the world media.

‘Quo Vadis, Aida?’ is the first feature film made in Bosnia that deals with the topic of the Srebrenica genocide. It premiered at the 77th Venice Film Festival last year and has earned vast critical acclaim since then.
