Waste transfer is being carried out at four locations to speed up the entire process.
''Stability is returning this morning regarding the collection of municipal waste from Mostar. Yesterday, we secured three additional locations, along with the one in the northern part of the city. Starting at 4 a.m. today, trucks have been transferring waste, which is being transported to other landfills,'' Kordic said.
Two recycling centers, located in the southern and northern parts of the city, have been designated as two additional transfer points, while a third has been organized at the Uborak landfill, specifically in the section used for solid waste. Together with the already designated site in Vrapcici, these make up the four transfer locations.
The location in Vrapcici had been blocked for some time, but the situation changed after a meeting on Thursday.
''Yesterday, we held a meeting with residents of the northern part of the city. We listened to their concerns, clarified certain issues that had been miscommunicated through the media, and effectively gained their understanding, so that the location is now active for waste transfer,'' the Mostar mayor stated.
As for the fire site, work is ongoing to cover it with sand to fully extinguish the fire and eliminate unpleasant odors.
Regarding tourism in Mostar, the mayor said that recent events have certainly affected visitor arrivals.
