Szijjártó in Banja Luka: Western Balkan countries are ready for European integration

"It is a bad joke that in Brussels they consider Ukraine to be more ready for European integration than the countries of the Western Balkans. The Western Balkan countries are ready; they could provide economic development to the EU, while Ukraine brings only danger, war, and the Ukrainian mafia. That is what the EU could get from Ukraine," Szijjártó said.

He emphasized that for Hungary, stability, security, and peace in the Western Balkans are of primary importance in terms of national security.

"There is a war with our eastern neighbors, so destabilization in the south could have tragic consequences for Hungary," Szijjártó stressed.

According to him, Hungary pursues a responsible neighborhood policy, doing everything possible to maintain peace and stability in the Western Balkans.

"That is why we support the European integration of this region," the Hungarian Foreign Minister said, noting that he was awarded an honorary doctorate at the University of Banja Luka.
