Ten fires recorded across Herzegovina-Neretva Canton in past 24 hours

Ten fires were recorded across the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (HNC) over the past 24 hours, with firefighters responding to the highest number of incidents in the Mostar and Capljina areas, according to the HNC Civil Protection Operational Centre.

Firefighters in the Mostar area responded to four fires. During the morning, a fire reignited at the Uborak solid waste landfill, while additional incidents involved burning waste in Vrapčići and Konak, and burning grass and tree branches in Malo Polje.
Five fires were recorded in the Capljina area. They involved burning rubbish in Visici and Suskovo Naselje, plant waste in Prenj, forest and vegetation in Dretelj, and grass and low vegetation in Celjevo.
One additional firefighting intervention was recorded in the Citluk area, where forest, grass and low vegetation were on fire in Bijakovici.
