Bosnian Foreign Minister Bisera Turkovic warned that “stricter measures” will be applied if secessionist intentions in the country do not stop. She said that expert teams are considering models that might be applied in such situations.
“We are deeply aware of the separatist intention that exists in our country,” said Turkovic, adding that there is a series of options to be used if those intentions do not end.
“Law expert teams are gathering, both local and international ones, who will consider the models to be applied if secessionist intention does not stop. If this path goes on, the stricter measures will come and be unveiled soon. Time is slowly ticking away,” she added.
Turkovic spoke in the context of the latest decision passed by the international peace envoy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, High Representative Christian Schmidt, who used his special powers and suspended a law in Bosnia's Republika Srpska entity which Bosnian Serb leadership strongly objected.
