Former U.S. federal prosecutor Martin De Luca, now a member Trump's team, stated that an investigation has begun in Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding the spending of funds through the USAID organization.
“Over the past four years, $402 million was allocated to BiH through various programs, of which only $150 million can be accounted for. About $250 million remains unaccounted for. This is American taxpayers’ money,” De Luca told reporters in Banja Luka.
He said that his team is already investigating USAID’s operations and that funds have been spent in a similar manner worldwide, raising suspicions of corruption.
“President Trump is very determined to examine and investigate everything that has happened as soon as possible. There are no project descriptions, and it is unclear where $250 million in BiH ended up,” De Luka stated.
He emphasized that all responsible parties will be prosecuted.
“All responsible individuals, whether U.S. citizens or foreign nationals, must be brought to justice,” De Luka said.
