Milorad Dodik’s latest allegations, like most of his claims, are absurd and ill-intentioned. The United States and the West are not threatening Republika Srpska or its residents’ aspirations for a peaceful, democratic, and prosperous future, US Embassy in Sarajevo said Wednesday.
"These threats are coming from Milorad Dodik and those Republika Srpska authorities who are seeking to take away fundamental rights and freedoms of the entity’s residents; enriching themselves rather than working for the prosperity of those they claim to represent; undermining the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Dayton Peace Agreement; and making destabilizing, delusional, and dangerous promises of Republika Srpska independence," the embassy noted.
They added that the United States has been and remains a friend and partner to all the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"Our policy here is clear and straightforward and has been for 28 years: The United States supports Bosnia and Herzegovina’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and multiethnic character as well as its integration into Euro-Atlantic institutions," the Embassy concluded in their tweet.
