(VIDEO) IMF's Serhan Cervik: Balkans polluting much more than the European Union

When it comes to climate change, the Western Balkans region is several decades behind the European Union in terms of adapting to it, as well as fulfilling the promised reductions in carbon gas emissions - this is the conclusion of the 'Climate Change Mitigation and Policy Spillovers in the EU’s Immediate Neighborhood' research conducted by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). One of the conclusions of this research confirms what has been known for a long time in the Balkans. Namely, the Balkans is polluting much more than the European Union.
