Presidency candidate: My rivals have no capacity for changes

Presidential candidate and leader of the Independent Bloc Senad Sepic said his main rivals for the Bosnia's state Presidency were “marionettes” of their own political parties and that they had no capacity to make changes.

The Independent Bloc was established in September 2017 by independent candidates at the 2014 election, consisting also of those who split from existing political parties in Bosnia. Sepic had left the ruling Bosniak party in the country, the Party of Democratic Action (SDA).

Speaking for N1, Sepic said the citizens would be surprised by the capacities of the Independent Bloc's election candidates, while other parties would offer “already seen people and faces, who have no energy or capacity to change something.”

The Independent Bloc's list of candidates, he added, consisted of new names mostly. His own nomination for the state Presidency will be supported by not only the Justice and People party but some other figures as well.

“If you listen to my opponents, you will hear that the topic of fear dominates their statements. We are a political profile who wants to, figuratively, bomb the people with other topics and narratives,” said Sepic.

According to him, the state Constitution is not the biggest problem in the country, and some are using it only as an excuse. It is necessary to solve existential problems of citizens, he added.

“One should be more honest and sincere towards himself and others, and offer the citizens something new instead of this horror,” Sepic concluded.

The citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina will cast their vote on October 7 and elect the members of tripartite state Presidency, entity presidents, and members of the state, entity and cantonal parliaments.
