International community applies double standards and it would have already reacted if Serbia or Republika Srpska (RS) had introduced 100 percent import tariffs as Kosovo did, President of Bosnia’s RS entity Zeljka Cvijanovic said for Serbian media.

If anyone else jeopardised the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) like Kosovo did, they would already be in international reports, Cvijanovic told Radio Belgrade referring to the import tariffs that Pristina authorities introduced last month on the goods from Serbia and Bosnia.

“Kosovo structures made a move and everyone in the international community pretend to be innocent and naive, avoiding to send a bad or harsh word towards that ‘fussy baby’ as they like to say,” she added.

It is irritating, Cvijanovic said, that someone does everything they want while others cannot even do what is right to do, “because of constant criticism they get.”

“That is so unbalanced approach which cannot end well,” she added.

Following the October 7 general election in Bosnia, Cvijanovic took the office of the President of RS, Bosnia’s semi-autonomous Serb-dominated entity, which maintains special relations with the Republic of Serbia specified under an agreement they signed in 2006.

Construction of a highway from Banja Luka, the seat of the RS institutions, to Belgrade is imperative, said the RS President and announced that Serbia will be involved in some important infrastructural projects in RS.

“We’re proud of and happy for that,” she said.
