Bosnia's Court handed down a first-instance ruling against Ibro Cufurovic on Friday, sentencing him to four years in prison for joining ISIS in Syria.

The verdict was based on the indictment which says that Cufurovic left Bosnia in April 2014 travelling to Turkey, from where he illegally crossed into Syria. The Prosecution said he came there with the intent of fighting on the side of the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) on the territory of Iraq and Syria.

The indictment also stipulates that members of the terrorist group ISIS intended to force the legitimate Syrian authorities to change the constitutional order and political regime through daily armed attacks, such as attacks on the population, killings, unlawful imprisonment, hostage-taking and other actions.
