US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O'Brien met with High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina Christian Schmidt, on Friday.

According to the US Embassy in BiH, the two discussed the challenges that BiH is facing, including electoral integrity.

The Assistant Secretary reaffirmed the United States’ strong support for the High Representative and his use of the Bonn Powers to implement and defend the Dayton Peace Agreement, support BiH and its institutions as well as ensure those institutions’ functionality, and counter inflammatory rhetoric and actions aimed at undermining both, the Embassy said.
