According to the preliminary figures, Blanusa won 10,168 votes, while Karan secured significantly higher support, with more than 24,000 votes. The reported vote share stands at 30 percent for Blanuša compared to 70 percent for Karan.

In his address, Blanusa thanked members of the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS), opposition parties, and citizens who participated in the elections.

“I want to greet you all. I would like to thank the people from SDS, as well as opposition parties. I also thank all citizens who went out to vote,” Blanusa said.

He added that election day unfolded in an atmosphere in which, according to him, “anything is possible in Republika Srpska,” claiming that various forms of pressure had been present in the days leading up to the vote.

“I am not disappointed; one match is one experience. You can win and you can lose. It is time to prepare better for the elections in October. Vote buying took place,” Blanusa said.
