Bosnia and Herzegovina is considering the purchase of two million doses of Pfizer's COVID antiviral drug, Assistant Bosnian Minister of Civil Affairs told N1.
Dusan Kojic said that both Bosnian entities, the Federation and Republika Srpska as well as Brcko District, showed the interest in the purchase with the state authorities as mediator in the procurement procedures.
“What follows are the talks with the Pfizer representatives so we get the details concerning the clinical trials. Then we wait for the approvals of the regulatory bodies – the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and European Medicines Agency (EMA). Only then the competent healthcare institutions in BiH will take a final stance on the purchase,” he added.
According to Kojic, more information about the procedure will be available next week.
He did not specify what amount will be required for the drug purchase.
