Bosnia Presidency member Becirovic challenges RS laws in Const. Court
Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Presidency member Denis Becirovic has prepared legal challenges to the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina against laws recently adopted by the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (NSRS), which he described as unconstitutional and in violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement. These laws, he said, seek to challenge the subordination of the Republika Srpska entity to the sovereignty of the Bosnian state.

The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that Becirovic, alongside his legal team, will submit the requests for constitutional review. Additionally, the initiative is being coordinated with the leadership of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including Speaker Denis Zvizdic and Deputy Speaker Kemal Ademovic.
Becirovic emphasized the need for a coordinated response to what he termed as unlawful actions by the authorities of Republika Srpska.
“The illegal actions of RS entity institutions require a decisive and united response from all state officials in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The brutal attacks on the Dayton Peace Agreement and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s constitutional order must be stopped. Any attempt to undermine the country’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity poses a direct threat to peace and stability in Bosnia and the region,” the statement from the Presidency reads.
Becirovic reaffirmed his commitment to utilizing all available legal and political mechanisms to defend constitutional principles and uphold the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
