Bosnia state police detain Borac Football Club president Zvjezdan Misimovic amid financial inquiry

Law enforcement personnel have focused their inquiries on Zvjezdan Misimovic, who serves as president of the board of directors for Football Club Borac. Investigators transferred him to official agency premises in Banja Luka for formal questioning. Agency representatives confirmed that operations span four distinct sites under judicial warrants issued by the local municipal court, encompassing three locations within Banja Luka and one in Gradiska.

Officers executed searches on residential properties and vehicles connected to the club official. Preliminary information indicates that investigators are examining financial transactions surrounding a specific player transfer valued at approximately 400,000 Bosnian marks (approximately €204,516). Agency officials stated that comprehensive details regarding identities and specific operational findings cannot be disclosed while field activities remain active.

Following the morning interventions, club representatives issued an official statement confirming that agency personnel seized business documentation and related items from administrative facilities. The club noted that its financial operations have undergone regular administrative oversight in recent years without uncovering regulatory violations. Management expressed full backing for their leadership, emphasizing adherence to legal standards and institutional cooperation.
