The President of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ranko Debevec, and the former director of the Intelligence and Security Agencies (OSA) of BiH, Osman Mehmedagic, were arrested in Sarajevo on Monday.
N1 learned that Debevac was arrested by members of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), and by order of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.
BiH Security Minister Nenad Nesic confirmed for the N1 portal that Ranko Debevac and Osman Mehmedagic “Osmica” were arrested.
They were detained for breach of official duty.
“They were arrested during the day over an abuse of office. There are no untouchables,” Nesic told N1.
“According to the order of the acting prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency – SIPA, arrested Debevec Ranko, the President of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Osman Mehmedagic, former director of the Intelligence and Security Agency (OSA-OBA) of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the afternoon. The mentioned persons are suspected of crimes of abuse of office, in connection with other crimes from the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the interest of the case, we cannot provide any more details or information at this time,” said Milanko Kajganic, the Chief BiH Prosecutor, in a statement.
