The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has confirmed an indictment against Zoran Kalinic and others, involving 15 individuals and six private higher education institutions, for trafficking in university diplomas, according to the BiH Prosecutor's Office.
The accused are charged with organized criminal activity, corruption, and illegal trade in dozens of diplomas, primarily in fields like economics, law, engineering, healthcare, and management. The involved universities operated in Banja Luka, Mostar, and Brčko District.
At least 49 diplomas were illegally issued, and the Prosecutor's Office is seeking to have them annulled.
Notable individuals indicted include Zoran Kalinic, former rector of the Independent University of Banja Luka, and several other university officials. All accused are currently under court-imposed restrictions.
The investigation revealed that some individuals who purchased diplomas had little or no participation in the educational process.
