The current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina is the culmination of Milorad Dodik's politics that has been present for more than ten years, Speaker of Bosnian House of Representatives Denis Zvizdic told N1 referring to the Serb member of the State three-member Presidency. According to him, Dodik's main goal is to display Bosnia and Herzegovina as a dysfunctional country.

According to him, Dodik has been carrying out the same politics for years, but especially after the moment he was appointed in the Presidency and members of his SNSD party took ministerial posts in the Council of Ministers.

Dodik's main goal is to display Bosnia and Herzegovina as a dysfunctional country, said the parliamentarian, speaking in N1's Pressing.

“There is no efficient state without efficient institutions,” he noted, adding that Dodik is targeting three crucial institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the sectors of police, military and judiciary, in order to transfer them from the state onto the entity level.

Zvizdic was presumably referring to Dodik's initiative for the vote in the entity parliament of the Republika Srpska, Bosnia's Serb-majority region where SNSD-led coalition has a majority, which, if accepted, would mean withdrawal of the entity from the state institutions such as the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council, the Indirect Tax Authority and the Armed Forces.

He deems that BiH's friends, including the USA and those in Europe, are not working on the country's destruction but that they are rather “lulled” because Dodik's actions have been repeating constantly.

“So many red lines have been crossed. I personally believe that the USA will not go below the standards of democratic society that are ruling the USA and I think that our friends in the world will not betray European future of Bosnia and Hezegovina,” stressed Zvizdic.

Commenting on the relations of the neighbouring countries with BiH, he stressed that they do not only have to respect the country's territorial integrity but also its sovereignty.

As for the announcement that the leader of the Bosniak-majority SDA party Bakir Izetbegovic would meet Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Zvizdic said that the talks between the two countries should be adequately held within institutions.

“In this situation, Vucic should meet the members of the Presidency of BiH,” he stressed, and clarified that he supports the talks of the state of BiH with the state of Serbia, but that the future of the two countries and state institutions should not be defined through the talks between the Bosniaks and the Serbs.

“This is not the Middle Ages era to hold talks on the level of certain peoples,” added Zvizdic.
