Outgoing BiH Presidency member and candidate for President of Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik, announced a counter-protest after opposition parties organised mass protests in the RS over what they claim was election fraud.

“Together with the coalition partners, we will have a gathering in Banja Luka on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m., in order to say that we will not allow the electoral will of the people of Republika Srpska to be overturned,” said the leader of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), Milorad Dodik.

RS citizens and opposition parties in the entity organised two protests recently, claiming that the opposition candidate, Jelena Trivic, won the election for the post of RS President.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) ordered a recount of the votes due to irregularities.

“Republika Srpska will once again resist the dangerous intentions of foreigners and the opposition, who, with the help of illegal decisions of the CEC, want to create a state of chaos and instability in the RS. During the elections, the Serb people clearly stated their position and supported the policy that I advocate. No manipulations can change the will of hundreds of thousands of citizens who voted for a strong and stable Republika Srpska,” said Dodik.
