In statements to the media after his Wednesday hearing at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the president of BiH’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik, once again denied the genocide in Srebrenica, calling it a "manipulation". Pročitaj više

“BiH is a colony. Everything happens here according to that. Foreigners come, select the prosecutors, impose the Court and then force us to be tried without a democratic procedure. I have nothing to add. Through all this and the procedure itself, everything is clear. I don't know if it is useful for us to stop it now, we should go all the way and show the nonsense. No matter how motivated some may be, politically or nationally, they cannot deny so many facts,” said Dodik.

“BiH is in a systematic crisis, it was made to be in a crisis. The Dayton Agreement is a mistake made by BiH and it was given to foreigners to manage it and it (BiH) is a colony. That's why we get a (EU) negotiating status that collapses after five days”, he said.

Also, a meeting between Dodik and partners in the government was announced today.

Dodik said he organized a meeting with partners in the BiH government as “the last attempt to agree on something”.

“We believe that everything that has been done lately is horrible and harmful for Bosnia and Herzegovina. The first thing is the imposition of the electoral law, it is one of the most important laws”, he said, referring to the amendments that the High Representative of the international community in the country, Christian Schmidt, imposed recently.

Dodik again used the term “Muslims” to refer to Bosniaks.

“Given that the law on technical changes passed in the House of Representatives, Bosnian Muslims deliberately blocked the decision-making system and then Schmidt appeared and imposed a solution. This means that Central Election Commission members cannot be replaced”, he said, arguing that members of the CEC should be removed from the position.

He also spoke about the resolution on Srebrenica that will be presented to representatives of UN countries on Wednesday. The resolution calls for July 11 to be declared the “international day remembrance day for the Srebrenica genocide.”

“Does any of the Bosnian Muslims think that emphasizing the story of Srebrenica will contribute to reconciliation? It won't. I'm not the first one to put up with this. No one can represent BiH unilaterally. If we can't agree, it's pointless to do anything else. I invite everyone from our people to come to the gathering in Banja Luka tomorrow”, he said, referring to a protest gathering that is being organised regarding the matter.

He then again denied that genocide took place in Srebrenica, and he used the opportunity to mention Naser Oric, a former BiH Army officer who was acquitted of war crimes charges by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY).

“Why do they think we can continue to live together while they keep labelling us? Why?…. We're not going to live with you, you'll see what that looks like. I'm not threatening, I just have the right to say my opinion. Everyone was prosecuted for Srebrenica, and Naser Oric is walking freely in Sarajevo….. That's reconciliation? To put the label of genocide on my grandchildren?”, he said.
