During his visit to the opening of the International Economic Fair Mostar, Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic commented on the resolution on Srebrenica that will be presented to the United Nations General Assembly, saying that it was established that Serbia is not responsible for what happened in the eastern BiH town in any way.

“Don't mislead the people, like you mislead the people in Sarajevo, that I was carrying a sniper and that I shot at someone. The problem is that you make things up, you can't stick to the facts,” he said.
Vucic said that a “terrible crime” was committed in Srebrenica. He refuses to call it a genocide.

“And it is not a problem for someone to come and show piety, regret and everything else. But please, don't invent and don't speculate about court rulings that are not the way you present them,” he said.

The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague handed down several verdicts confirming that genocide took place in Srebrenica.

The ICTY, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the courts in Serbia sentenced more than 50 people to more than 700 years in prison in total for the crimes committed in Srebrenica. Of the 20 verdicts of the ICTY for crimes committed in Srebrenica, seven include verdicts for the crime of genocide.

Five verdicts related to Srebrenica were handed down in the Republic of Serbia, including verdicts for war crimes against the civilian population and violations of the laws and customs of war.
