Elektroprivreda BiH and World Bank launch major renewable energy initiative

A key component of the project is the launch of the "Prosumer 5000+" programme. This initial phase focuses on providing finance for the installation of rooftop solar photovoltaic systems for households. Additionally, the project encompasses the rehabilitation of the Salakovac hydropower plant and the installation of solar systems at the Tuzla and Kakanj thermal power plants. The scope also includes comprehensive technical assistance, covering the preparation of essential feasibility studies and project documentation.

To ensure public engagement, Elektroprivreda BiH has announced a series of consultations and presentations across Sarajevo, Tuzla, Kakanj, and Jablanica between 27 and 29 April 2026.

The schedule for the public outreach activities is as follows:

• 27 April: Presentation of the "Prosumer 5000+" project at the Elektroprivreda BiH Business and Technical Building in Sarajevo.
• 28 April: Public briefing on the construction of solar power plants equipped with battery energy storage at the Tuzla Thermal Power Plant.
• 29 April: Presentation of solar projects at the Kakanj Thermal Power Plant, alongside a session regarding the Salakovac Hydropower Plant Rehabilitation Project at the Neretva hydropower plant premises in Jablanica.

Elektroprivreda BiH has invited government institutions, private companies, civil society organisations, and local community representatives to participate in these sessions to discuss the technical and social aspects of the transition.
