European committee meeting to address BiH’s EU integration and youth opportunities

The European Committee of the Regions' Working Group on Western Balkans Relations will convene tomorrow at the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo. Chaired by Nikola Dobroslavic, Prefect of Dubrovnik-Neretva County, the event will begin with welcoming remarks from Sarajevo Canton Prime Minister Nihad Uk.

The meeting will feature thematic discussions on Bosnia and Herzegovina's European integration, with a focus on the role of local and regional authorities in implementing EU legislation. Key speakers include Ambassador Luigi Soreca, EU Special Representative in BiH, Federation (FBiH) entity President Lidija Bradara, Republika Srpska (RS) entity Minister Senka Jujic, and several leaders of municipal associations.

The first session will explore challenges local authorities face in the EU accession process, while the second will address youth issues, emphasizing inter-municipal cooperation to tackle high unemployment and skills gaps. The gathering aims to enhance cooperation between BiH and the EU, focusing on community development and creating better opportunities for youth in education and employment.
