Four people, relatives of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who remained in Gaza, arrived in Sarajevo Tuesday evening. They were met by their families at the airport, including those who came to BiH earlier. Their hearts are calmer now, they say, but they can't be at peace because of their other relatives, friends and neighbours who stayed in Gaza.

Ibrahim El-Ran welcomed his father. In the last evacuation from Gaza, his mother and sister were saved.

“Thanks to everyone who worked on this. My heart will be full. We are also worried about the relatives and other residents of Gaza, it is terrible what is happening. We cannot find peace,” said Ibrahim.

Tears of joy and relief were seen on the faces of the family. This time, a mother with two children arrived along with Ibrahim's father, a doctor, Mohamed El Ran, who was the only surgeon in Gaza.

“They [the Israeli army] tied my hands and blindfolded me for 24 hours. I was on my knees. It tears a man apart physically and mentally. It was a great humiliation. After a while, you have no hope for life. It was harassment. Thank God I arrived. I thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, which resolved this,” El Ran said.

He said that the hospitals were destroyed one by one and that he moved from one to another. In the end, that last hospital was also destroyed.

“They entered with tanks. They called me personally. They told me to surrender or they would destroy everything. I surrendered and then they stripped us naked and abused us. It cannot be described by anyone, God forbid. I feel sorry for the people who stayed, we don't know what happened to the many that stayed there,” he added.

Bosnia’s Foreign Minister Elmedin Konakovic said earlier that they had a problem with their arrival and that these were the people from the first transfer list. He explained that they encountered technical problems regarding the duration of the expired decision.

“Very quickly, in a record time, my colleague Nenad Nesic and the Ministry of Security of BiH, the Office for Legislation, the Council of Ministers Chair, Borjana Kristo, and all of us together at the Council of Ministers made a new decision on their entry and stay. It is important to note that these are persons who have undergone security checks, they do not pose any security threat,” Konakovic said.
