Gas network expansion begins in Kiseljak with swift progress on BH-Gas connection

The work commenced after all regulatory conditions were met, including the energy permit issued on July 4, 2023, and the appointment of contractors Fagas d.o.o. Sarajevo and Ceste-Company d.o.o. Kiseljak.

BH-Gas conducted gas shutdown and pressurisation procedures at the Metering and Regulation Station (MRS) before and after the connection works. The rest of the tasks were handled by the contractors and the supervising engineering team.

Although 24 hours were allocated for the connection, BH-Gas reported the job was completed in just 10 hours, starting from the moment the gas supply was cut off on the Visoko-Brnjaci pipeline.

In the next phase, work will continue within the MRS Brnjaci compound, including site restoration and the connection of the odorization unit to the metering line serving Kiseljak.

BH-Gas noted that the technical conditions for gasification in Kiseljak had existed for 15 years, but implementation only began under the municipality’s new leadership.

The distribution network officially broke ground in early June, in a ceremony attended by BH-Gas Director Dzevad Becirevic and FBiH Minister of Energy, Mining, and Industry Vedran Lakic. They were joined by Kiseljak Mayor Mladen Misuric-Ramljak to coordinate project timelines and ensure seamless integration with the existing MRS infrastructure.

Looking ahead, BH-Gas confirmed that once the Kiseljak network is operational, efforts will shift toward extending the gas pipeline to the neighbouring Municipality of Fojnica. The expansion is expected to significantly boost regional energy security and stimulate economic development.
