Inflationary pressure: FBiH consumer prices rise by 3.1 percent annually

Consumer prices in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) recorded an average monthly increase of 0.3 percent in February 2026. Data from the FBiH Statistics Agency indicates that this contributes to an annual inflation rate of 3.1 percent compared to February 2025.

The most significant monthly price hikes were observed in the alcoholic beverages and tobacco sector, which rose by 1.1 percent. Additional increases were noted in health services, furniture, and household maintenance, each rising by 0.5 percent. The categories of food and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as transport, both saw an uptick of 0.4 percent.

The sectors of housing, utilities (including water, electricity, and gas), and the hospitality industry (restaurants and hotels) reported a 0.3 percent increase. Modest growth was also recorded in education (0.2 percent) and communications (0.1 percent). Conversely, prices for clothing and footwear saw a notable decline of 3.1 percent, while other goods and services decreased by 0.2 percent. Costs within the recreation and culture sector remained stable.
