Bosnian Foreigners Affairs' Service in cooperation with the police of the northwestern Una-Sana Canton have launched an operation Thursday morning to relocate the remaining group of migrants from the 'Miral' camp near the town of Velika Kladusa.

The migrants will be accommodated at the Lipa Camp, some 40 kilometres outside the town of Bihac.

The ‘Miral’ camp was set up three and a half years ago, after the migrants have kept the Bosnia-Croatia border blocked for days, demanding a free pass to Croatia and further to various western countries.

Local businessman, Boris Horvat, offered the premises of his company (‘Miral’) for the a temporary accommodation of migrants until authorities decide on a new location. However, the municipal authorities in Velika Kladusa refused to give consent for a new camp on its territory and demanded that the ‘Miral’ camp is closed down.

Previously, the local authorities in the neighbouring town of Bihac closed the ‘Bira’ camp and relocated the migrants to the rebuilt ‘Lipa’ camp that opened in November last year.
