The Association "Mothers of the Enclave of Srebrenica and Zepa" and the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide in BiH sent a letter to the ambassadors of the Peace Implementation Council, the OHR, NATO, EU, and EUFOR regarding the recent inflammatory rhetoric of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic concerning the UN Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica.

“Considering that the President of Serbia claims that Serbia will oppose the Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica with all its might, and that he is proud of the results of the campaign against Kosovo's admission to the Council of Europe and the Resolution on Srebrenica, suggesting that the adoption of the Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica will ‘open an unprecedented Pandora's box,’ we wonder what does the ‘opening of the Pandora's box’ mean? Does it mean the unveiling of the plan of the ‘Serbian World’ with weapons obtained from Russia and China? Does it imply a new war or the continuation of the unrealized dreams of the President of Serbia from the 1990s?” the letter states.

Every threat to peace, they further noted, is a serious violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the mere announcement by the President of Serbia regarding the “opening” of something is a call for the peace guarantors in Bosnia and Herzegovina to protect it.

“Serbian President is a person who publicly threatened, ‘for every Serb killed, we will kill a hundred Muslims,’ and statements of such individuals must be taken seriously. We call on all representatives of the international community to take Aleksandar Vucic's threats most seriously and to urgently deploy NATO forces on the border between BiH and Serbia,” the letter concluded.
