Russian Ambassador to Belgrade Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko said Moscow expects Serbia not to attend international conferences held in the absence of the Russian Federation, N1 learns.

At a meeting with Serbia’s Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic held at end of December 2022, Botsan-Kharchenko said this refers to the Summit for Democracy, Council of the European Political Community and some other meetings that are to focus on Russia.

N1 learns Kharchenko said that the US will ask that Russia be expelled from the United Nations, on the same principle as when the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was expelled from it in 1992.

In the same context, the Russian Ambassador also discussed with Dacic the attempts to form an International Tribunal for War Crimes in Ukraine.

Botsan-Kharchenko also said that Moscow knows about Serbian Energy Minister Dubravka Djedovic’s meetings with the Ukrainian Ambassador at which they discussed ways in which Serbia can help Ukraine’s power system.

Dacic said all these requests will be considered by Serbia in the spirit of friendly relations, learns N1.
