Representatives of non-governmental and civil society organizations met in Sarajevo with Head of the EU Delegation to BiH Johann Sattler on Monday, to present him with the Principles for Amendments to the BiH Constitution, as well as an open letter to international officials.
The principles were put together by the Council of the Congress of Bosniak Intellectuals (VKBI), the Croat National Council (HNV), the Serb Civic Council (SGV) and the Forum of Parliamentarians 1990. The organisations launched a web application that provides an opportunity for BiH citizens to express their support for the ideas and, so far, more than 18,000 have done so.
The Head of the EU Delegation gave full support to civil society organizations and a high level of agreement was reached on the presented Principles.
During the meeting, civil society representatives expressed disappointment with the unprincipled EU policy and called for a clearer and more precise EU policy, especially in the implementation of judgments of UN courts and the European Court of Human Rights. The EU Committee was also asked to get acquainted with the Principles and open issues.
Sattler expressed full agreement that all judgments of the European Court of Human Rights must be implemented and that this is the position of the EU Delegation.
