Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said that Croatia would like to facilitate the gasification of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its natural gas diversification.

“We have a liquid natural gas (LNG) terminal on the island of Krk island and we want to invest in our gas pipeline in order to ensure BiH the so-called “southern interconnection” that would enable the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) entity, which is about 50% of the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to obtain gas and thereby ensure the diversification of energy supply. Therefore, our ambition is for the new Council of Ministers of BiH, the new majority in the political sense, to agree on the key priorities, which are clearly stated in the context of the [EU] candidate status. In December, there were eight, but there are also 14 conditions set by the European Commission, and the key prerequisite is to reach an agreement on the Election Law, that all the constituent peoples elect their own political, legitimate representative in the country's Presidency. This was not the case with the Croats. Now, the fourth time, because we see the results of the election, even Mrs [Borjana] Kristo [Bosnia’s incumbent prime minister], who ran for the Presidency, failed to be elected because of the votes Mr [Zeljko] Komsic received. Therefore, this is an element that actually complicates our relationship”, the Croatian Prime Minister pointed out.

He announced that the Croatian side will continue its strong pressure to establish good relations between the two countries and continue supporting Bosnia on its EU accession path, but that, above all, he wants to continue the cooperation with Bosniaks, Croats and Serbs, and then with the rest as well as with the whole country.
