Organizations and members of the 'Awakening of the Citizens' initiative held peaceful protests in front of the Serbian Embassy in Sarajevo on Sunday, saying they fear that the behaviour of Serbia’s leadership may cause a return of a conflict in the country.

The protesters sent messages and questions to Serbia’s President, Aleksandar Vucic.

“Vucic, what is the priority – Greater Serbia, protection of Milorad Dodik or the lives of BiH citizens,” read one of the signs from the protest.

The protesters also pointed out that Serbian officials are attending the unconstitutional January 9 celebration of the Day of Republika Srpska in Bosnia’s Serb-majority region, asking whether this shows respect for Bosnia’s sovereignty.

The organization said that the goal of the protest is good neighbourly relations.

The organiser also announced that on Monday, January 10, a protest will take place in front of the Office of the High Representative in Sarajevo in order to express concern over the political and security crisis in BiH.
