High Representative Christian Schmidt expressed full support for the conclusions of the European People's Party (EPP) from the Brussels summit, emphasizing the importance of integrating the Western Balkans into the European Union.

“The European Union is incomplete without the Western Balkans. For Bosnia and Herzegovina, a strong commitment from the politicians in charge is crucial to finally fulfilling the required reform agenda,” Schmidt stated.

During the EU-Western Balkans summit in Brussels, Schmidt held discussions with several European leaders. These included Italian Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani, Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo, and EPP President Manfred Weber.

The summit focused on advancing integration and addressing challenges in the region. Schmidt’s meetings underscored the need for collaborative efforts and sustained political commitment to achieve meaningful progress on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s path toward EU membership.
