High Representative Christian Schmidt met on Thursday with Bosnia Grand Mufti Husein Kavazovic to discuss cooperation among religious communities to promote reconciliation and to prepare for the upcoming commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide.
During the meeting, High Representative Schmidt underscored the importance of showing the utmost respect for the victims and survivors of the genocide.

“Younger generations need leaders to set an example for how to confront the legacy of genocide and wartime atrocities — so that such horrors are never repeated,” stated High Representative Schmidt.
