Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon, will arrive in Sarajevo on Monday, where she will meet her Bosnian counterpart Elmedin Konakovic, Fena news agency reported.

The officials will discuss Bosnia and Herzegovina's path to the European Union, which Slovenia strongly supports, and the possibility of increasing cooperation between the two countries, Slovenia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Fena.

Fajon welcomed the European Council's decision on Thursday on the opening of the accession talks between the EU and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a “great day” for BiH.

“Big day for BiH and finally green light for opening EU accession negotiations. Proud of my country which proposed in 2022 to grant the candidate status to BiH. Also proud of BiH people who deserve better life within EU family. Looking forward to visiting Sarajevo on Monday!,” Fajon wrote on X platform.
