SNSD claims Karan won in repeated BiH RS entity presidential vote, SDS alleges irregularities

The Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) has declared victory for its candidate Sinisa Karan in the re-run early elections for the President of Republika Srpska, while opposition officials have raised allegations of electoral irregularities.

SNSD spokesperson Radovan Kovacevic addressed the media, thanking citizens who participated in the repeated vote, particularly voters in Prijedor. He stated that Karan won in 16 out of 17 municipalities.

According to figures released by the SNSD election headquarters, Karan secured 218,481 votes, while the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) candidate Branko Blanusa received 209,200 votes.

N1’s reporter said the atmosphere at the SDS headquarters was sombre following the preliminary results.

Meanwhile, Mirjana Orašanin, an SDS member of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, said the election day was marked by numerous irregularities, claiming that such practices have been recurring for years.
