Following security assessments and consultations with relevant institutions, the Srebrenica Memorial Center has decided to resume operations, allowing employees to return to work. The decision follows assurances from state institutions, the Office of the High Representative (OHR), and security measures implemented by the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina (DKPT BiH) and EUFOR.

“We analyzed the situation thoroughly and received security guarantees from relevant authorities. DKPT BiH remains crucial for our operations, and we have assurances from the High Representative that all necessary measures will be taken to ensure continued work,” said Emir Suljagic, the Centre’s director.

Security has been reinforced with increased DKPT BiH presence, stricter access control, and enhanced technical protection. However, due to ongoing legal uncertainties, the Center will remain closed to group visits for now.

Suljagic expressed gratitude for the solidarity shown toward the Memorial Center and stated that efforts will be made to reopen for collective visits before the end of the month.
